1D’s visit to Skipton Castle.

Saturday 28th June | 1 comment

We had a fantastic time yesterday on our trip to Skipton Castle. The weather stayed warm and dry – we were very lucky! We were also really pleased to have two fantastic guides with us who told us lots about the history of the castle and what kinds of events would have taken place 350 -400 years ago. We found all about the great hall, the kitchens, the guardarobe ( there was some very interesting facts about this room!), the lords rooms and the beautiful courtyard. It was so interesting to find out just what life would have been like and I for one am very happy I didn’t live in a castle in those times! The children were great ambassadors for the school and behaved beautifully. Thankyou to Amelia and Quadeer for joining us.

Rhys enjoyed the trip, his favourite but was going into the dungeon and the lights been turned off! Hrs was looking out for the ‘long drop’ as this was my funniest memory of visiting skipton castle as a child.
