A busy week in Year One.

In literacy this week we have been thinking about what we have enjoyed during our art topic. Who was our favourite artist? Which skill did we prefer? We have all written a speech bubble about our likes and dislikes. We have also written a recount about our visit to Leeds City Art Gallery. We used lots of great time openers – first, next, after that, then, finally. We have also heard each child read individually and updated their bug club books. The children are making super progress with their reading. Thank you for all your support with reading at home.
In maths we have continued with our individual assessments and have updated the children’s targets. We have also been busy practising our addition and subtraction skills. The children also enjoyed playing a game with a friend where they challenged each other to fill in missing numbers on a 100 square.
We have been to visit our ‘adopted trees’ and the children looked carefully at their tree and discussed the changes they’d seen each month.
Hope you all have a lovely half term holiday. The Year 1 Team
