68 penguins and a whole lot of maths!

It is not often there are 68 penguins in Year One.
We have celebrated World Maths Day by doing lots of penguin themed activities. The children have been counting in twos, learning about odd and even numbers and solving problems. On Tuesday we used penguins to learn our number bonds to 10 and 20, we played games and used penguin stampers to record our work. Even our P.E lessons were mathematical! We also enjoyed our number fun get fit song during the whole school maths assembly. Can your child talk about their favourite activity and what they have learnt?
This is a link to some fun maths games to keep the spirit of maths alive at home and this is a super song the children all know and love.
Here a few memories from a great couple of days and if you look closely you can see we even squeezed some penguin literacy in!
