Look what is happening in Year 1!

An Olympic visitor and a Cambridge student

Monday 12th September | 4 comments

Today the whole school celebrated when two former pupils came back to share their achievements. Nile Wilson, one of Great Britain’s leading gymnasts, came into school to lead an assembly about putting in maximum effort and working hard to reach your goals.  He showed off his unique bronze medal and his team kit.  Wow! His sister also came back to her primary school to celebrate being accepted at Cambridge University. Well done! Many of the Year One staff even helped them on their journey to success.

Go for your goals Year One!

Oh my goodness how lucky are Yr1 students. Jack has been so excited watching the Olympics (in particular Nile) and has wanted to start gymnastics after school which we are sorting out. Can’t wait for Jack to tell me all about it.

Daniel really enjoyed seeing Nile Wilson and was really impressed with his medal, he thought it was really big! Really great of Nile taking the time out to visit.

  3. Wow! What fantastic pictures! Amazing achievement! We all watched Nile get his bronze at the Olympics!
Zayn would have been so proud to have met him. He looks really made up in the picture to stand right next to him!
    Thank you for sharing.

What an inspirational pair! Not many people can say they have held an Olympic medal, never mind by the age of 5! Vaughn was really excited and said it was very heavy 🙂 Such a great experience for the children.
