Another busy week in Year 1

In maths this week we have been focusing on addition and subtraction. We have been writing number sentences and putting missing symbols into calculations.

In literacy we have all written an independent  recount of our trip to the nature reserve. The children tried hard to use time connectives in their work – including first, next, after that, then and finally. We have heard all the children read individually and have updated their books on ‘Bug Club’. In handwriting we have been practising writing r,n and m cursively.

In our PHSCE lessons this half term we have been learning about Playground Games and making up our own rules for play times. The children have had lots of fun playing games together. Which was your child’s favourite?

Thank you for all your support this half term. We hope that you all have a lovely holiday.
