Look what is happening in Year 1!

A trip to the woods

Friday 21st July | 1 comment

Another busy week and our final full week. Our highlight of the week was our trip to the woods…

We had such a great time exploring the beautiful woodland at Blackhills scout camp and luckily it didn’t rain. The children participated in a range of activities including minibeast hunting and building mini dens for Superworm! We had a lot of fun but the highlight for most children was the treasure hunt where they had to follow a map to find their treasure. I think the children even enjoyed it more than their picnic lunch! Can your child explain why this treasure hunt had an extra twist?

This was our last trip in Year 1 and it was a great way to end a fantastic year. Thank you again to the parents who supported us on this trip and a special thanks to Mrs James for all of her hard work and for making the treasure hunt even more exciting – all of the children appreciated it!

On Monday 24th July we are having a pirate day. Your child needs to come to school dressed as a pirate. Please don’t buy outfits – a pair of jeans and a stripy top is fine.

We are looking forward to a fun last few days!

When I spoke to Jack he said he had so much fun at Blackhills Scout camp he said the best thing he did was build a den with Kaleb. Jack is such an explorer and loves an adventure so he said this was the best trip ever.
