We have had a very busy four days! All the children have settled in really well and are getting used to the routines of Year 1. They have been exploring their new classrooms and outdoor area. Which area has your child enjoyed exploring the most? Can your child remember which hive they are in?

We have enjoyed getting to know the children. We have heard all the children read and they have a new book to share with you at home. Please help your child change their books before and after school. All the children have tried to write their first name and surname and also written independently about their holidays. Now they are in Year 1 it is important that they can hold a pencil with a triangular grip, write both names and form all the letters correctly.

We have also been to the school library and chosen a book – please share this with your child. We will change our library books every Friday.

We have sent home a newsletter and we hope this helps answer questions about PE kit and reading books. We will be doing PE next week so please make sure that your child has their PE kit in school.

Just a reminder to please send a special soft toy to school with your child on Monday. It will stay in school for the whole week so do not send a special bedtime bear. Also, please can you send a photograph of your child when they were a baby? It will be used for the history lesson next week.

It is going to be a fantastic year!

Have a lovely weekend.

All the children seem to be loving their new classrooms. Eden is definitely loving being in Year 1, her new teacher and new classroom.
