A strange week in Year 1!
Friday 28th May | No comments yet
It has been very quiet in Year 1 with 1GK working at home. We have missed you all.
This week we have written our stories. The children tried really hard and were very proud of their finished work. Well done to the children in 1GK who have written their stories at home.
In phonics we have revised all the phonemes. Please keep practising them at home. We will be doing another phonic screening check after half term.
This week in maths we have been learning about position and direction. We have learnt some new vocabulary: quarter turn, half turn, three-quarter turn, whole turn, anti-clockwise, clockwise, left and right.
Maths in action…
How exciting – our caterpillars have turned into butterflies! 1B released their five butterflies on Monday.
1GK got four beautiful butterflies, they have kept Mrs Galbraith company this week.
Here they are being released.
Look out for them all flying around Farsley this weekend!
Keeping our school tidy
Last week the children enjoyed using the litter pickers to tidy the school grounds. This week we have been busy making posters to remind people not to drop litter!
Our missing gingerbread man has had an amazing adventure exploring the world. Look at this letter we received from him…
Please can you return your Rodley Nature Reserve consent slips after half term. If you haven’t paid for the Animal Workshop please can you do so using ParentPay.
Thank you for all your support this half term.
